Every client has unique needs. As a result, each project takes on its own unique shape and scope. To make out clients' jobs easier, we outline and explain each step for each project. Below is a list of items that will help you get started with your next creative project. Corporate Identity:

When developing your corporate identity it is best to look around and be open to what inspires you. What do you notice? What gets your attention? Which colors, shapes, typestyles, etc. do you like and dislike? Also notice what style your competition is using. Choose examples of other logos, web sites, business cards and collateral material that you find particularly effective.

Determine the Objective:

What's the goal for your project? If it's a printed media piece, determine your audience, your budget, the vehicle you want communicating the piece to your audience, and any special marketing criteria such as a campaign slogan. Where will you have your project printed and will it be full-color front and back or a simple one color, only on one side? If your printed piece is going to be mailed, do you have a mailing list or do you need to purchase one? Does your piece meet postal regulations, and have you inquired about potential postage fees? Postage rates have increased 17% since 2002 and it's not stopping there. You cannot afford to release an ineffective mail piece!
If your project is going to be a web site or web application, some of the same considerations apply: you must determine the audience, your budget, timeline, means of marketing your web site and any special marketing requirements. Will your web site be used for more than simply conveying your business services and products? Will you accept requests for custom orders, quotations, or provide a customer login area? Will your web site be simple and professional or extravagant and unconventional? Will you stay with a simple navigational structure: home, about us, contact us, products and services, or will you invest more time in developing detailed and useful information for your clients such as frequently asked questions or a community message board? These are all important considerations.

Domain name:

For any successful business today, having an official web site has become commonplace. A good domain name can be the last variable that separates a successful website from the rest. Domain names play a role in search engine optimization and a good name is easily memorized. Without a professionally developed web site, marketing initiatives may prove to be futile.
Before starting any web site project you'll need to purchase a domain name. A domain name is the address used to access your web site, www.yourname.com. Most web sites are built around the name; including email addresses, site names, content, marketing strategies, etc. If you already have a domain name you're one step ahead. If not, we can point you in the right direction to register your own or we can do a domain name search for you and even register the name.

Concept:

Whether printed or on the web, the design and aesthetic value of your marketing collateral is an integral part of the project. There are several consumer level software packages like free WYSIWYG web editors (What You See Is What You Get) or web sites that let you design your business cards for free, in order to have a professional image you need to employ expertise.
